Make UPI Payment with internet, know how?

Learn about NPCI’s UPI ‘*99#’ service for seamless payments offline. No charges, Rs 5000 limit.

Imagine yourself traveling, ready to make a purchase, but suddenly you realize you’re short on cash. To make matters worse, you encounter an internet connectivity hiccup while attempting to complete an online payment through UPI or other digital methods.

Feeling stranded in such a situation is all too common, especially when you’re set on buying the item you desire.

Fortunately, there’s a convenient solution at your fingertips. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) introduced the ‘*99#’ service back in 2012, initially with limited accessibility.

However, in recent years, NPCI has expanded its reach, offering banking assistance to a broader audience across the nation.

To utilize this service when faced with an internet outage, simply dial ‘*99#’ from your phone’s call menu.

Once you enter the code, a range of options will be at your disposal. You can send money, receive funds, check your balance, or even reset your UPI PIN.

Each option is linked to a number that you can easily select to proceed with your desired action.

When it comes to making a payment to a seller, just press ‘1’, then input the seller’s mobile number, UPI ID, or bank account details, along with the payment amount and your UPI PIN.

Once these steps are completed, your payment will be successfully processed.

This method serves as a lifeline during instances of internet connectivity issues, ensuring smooth resolution of payment-related concerns.

As of now, the maximum transaction limit for ‘*99#’ is Rs 5000 per transaction, and there are no associated charges for utilizing this service.
